Womb Yoga Dance EP# 3 is inspired by the postures carved on the temple walls in Ancient Kemet (Egypt). Queen Afua choreographs Dance of the Womb, a series of 39 movements and 69 poses. Together there are 108 movements and poses of rejuvenation, tranquility, and celebration. This innovative inspiration sparked a theatrical play and a book after Queen Afua studied at her local library and is inspired to craft every movement and womb yoga pose with a message, a meaning, and a purpose. Dr. Rhoda Moise shared in her interview that in ancient times the sound of music is used to awaken or conjure divinity. Queen shares with the Womb Yoga Dance practitioners the meaning of the sistrum, a symbol held by women during seasonal rituals that are attributed to divinity like Het Heru, the personification of dance, joy, laughter & love. FKA Twigs invites Queen Afua to perform with her at Afro-Punk in Atlanta under the full moon in celebration of Dance of The Womb.
Featured in the episode: Erykah Badu, Dr. Rhoda Moise, Sundari Moneek, Supa Nova Slom, FKA Twigs.
